well...I got some silver this afternoon. Nothing to get too excited about but the first one is out of the way. A 44 mercury...I like merc`s...lol

it was only about 5 " deep but if was right beside a root and at first I was a little worried I might not be able to retrieve it...earlier I had a 4" target that was in a root that I wasn`t getting...lol. The yard was covered with roots and many of them big. It was nice getting a silver with the 705.

Congratulations on the first of many! :clapping:

I like Mercs too. And it's always a thrill to get your first silver with a new machine.....not to mention the confidence boost.

congrats.

As much as I have been enjoying the ring finds so far , I would really like to find some silver coins. Nice merc you have there!

Nice find! I remember that day like it was yesterday. You did better than me on my first. Mine was a 1964 rosie. I'm sure you'll have many more to come. Often where and when you least expect it.

Nice find. Still learning my 705 after 14 months. Love everything about it EXCEPT the depth indicator.
So what coil and TID? I sure the newer folks would like this info too.
I carry a (hand sized) pruner w me for roots. Won't cut much over 1" but it is very efficient in getting all the small stuff out of the way so that you can dig around the larger roots. Helps in parks and manicured lawns when the roots interfere w a lid type plug.

TID was 40 and I`m using the digger coil.
