First Silver With Etrac...amazing depth!

New member
Bought the Etrac and X1 probe last November but the silver has eluded me until now. I wasn't having any luck, just a wheat here and there. Took advantage of the warm weather in Minnesota today and hit the grassy area of a beach that the frost had come out in the last few days of record high temperatures. I have never found more than one silver in a day with my Xterra 705 and none yet with the Etrac, but today I got 3- Merc's, 1 -Rosie, 1- 1937D Washington, a silver ring and about a dozen Wheats. It was non-stop from the very first swing. The depth was amazing. The sand beach must have extended farther at one time because I was punching through 8-10 inches of black dirt and hitting sand. That is where the goodies were, all in a strip parallel with the lake. Nice mowed grass also. I never had so much fun in just a few hours! Dug a lot of rusty nails at first too...but I'm learning. The Etrac found coins deeper than I would feel comfortable digging in some places. Anyway, Thanks for looking and Thanks to all that have helped me and others.

Sounds like you found a nice honey strip and I'll bet there is a lot more where those came from. Nice work! HH-CC

Way to go on the silver finds there Kim! Thanks for the pictures. I know what you mean about the depth and digging at certain spots.

Congratulations Kim on finding all that silver with your new E-trac!:clapping:

Wow.....now that's a day of hunting right there. Congrats on all of the finds!!

Nice going :minelab:

sounds like a spot worth poundin again. you can really crank up the sensitivity in sand.

congratulations on your good finds, those are the kinds of days we all hope for!

The depth is amazing and I'm still giddy every time I dig something over 7". I haven't hit 10" (and I'm using a tape measure so there is no fibbing going on! eheh)

Congrats on that silver,
EMS

Nice haul I live in sw mn and the ground is getting pretty stiff in spots. Nice looking coins

Congrats! That's a fantastic hunt!

Thanks for the replys everyone. I truly enjoy looking at everyones pictures and their story about the hunt. I was using Bill S. coinshooter pattern and it worked very well. I have the standard coil. I set sensitivity to auto +3 and it was running at 27 most of the time. Had Deep OFF Fast OFF and Normal for the audio, ground difficult and trash high. Had Deep On for a while but after I turned it off I don't think the iron falses were as frequent. I never thought I would be detecting in January here in Southern Minnesota but I am not complaining. The lake is very low right now and the beach extends a good 15-20' into the lake. Too bad the sand is frozen solid because I was getting silver signals. If it stays low until spring it should make for some good hunting when it thaws out!
