First Silver

Well I'm new to this sport just buying my first detector in the middle of august a fisher coinstrike which. I found around 25 in clad and 1 silver ring nothing old except 1 wheat penny.I wanted my son to go with me so I bought a explorer pro and have been using it for 2 weeks and finally found my first silver a 1952 dime I also ended the day with 5 wheats oldest being 1912 and a 1951 nickle plus a pocket full of bent nails thanks to all the findmall members for all the posts on the explorer really helped me start my learning process.

Thanks I was excited and I also learned somthing I had a great high tone that repeated from all directions but when I pinpointed it it gave me a low tone and 31 31 I almost didn't dig but high tone warble was just too good coin was 9 to 10 inches down!

Way to go on the silver dime! That's also a pretty old wheatie. You'll be digging some Mercs and Barbers soon as well as some Indian Heads-just keep at it. HH

Thanks everyone for the encouragement work has just been crazy busy and working 60 plus hours a week and living in Michigan I know I don't have much time left before the snow flies I've read the manul frount to back at least 3 times and andys book over and over and read most of the post on this forum to optimize my time I actually get to hunt.Thanks to everyone for shareing all the great info I wish all you best,take care and hh Darren Holz

Welcome to the hobby. The Explorer will not disappoint. My first ever silver dollar, 1883 Morgan, I found in Michigan last year. Was on vacation visiting relatives in Wyandotte. So keep hunting and you will be blessed with a lot of exciting items!!!!
