First time out w/Cibola

I went out on the beach last night and when I would swing to the left I would get a signal, when I checked it, it was gone. I thought I was lifting the coil so I paid closer attention. Still had the signal. It was picking up the sand scoop in my left hand 2 1/2 feet up. I went on to find 3Q's, 2D's, 1N, 6P's and assorted caps and shredded drink cans. Three hours of swinging and no fatigue, great. I did have to stay away from the wet sand. It's good to be back swinging. I was told not to quit my day job from in-laws about my finds, but it felt great.

The cibola is a great unit, I used to own one. If it's there it will tell you. I saw one find a lovely medieval coin a few months ago - paid for itself in one hit.

I took my Cibola out for the 2nd time today. I am finding it hard to pinpoint as well as generally find the items that are setting it off. LOL i am extrmeely amateur and hunting on trails in the forest... could it be somehting in the composition of the ground? because it constantly seems to go off and then no metal is there. Anyone have any suggestions on how to have the settings just for coin hunting? Thanks.

You may need to turn your sensativity down.

Hmmm... like 8-9. Yesterday in the other forest I went to i didnt haqve the same problem, could it be that the ground on this trail I was on was some sort of metal in it? i dunno.

With most any machine the time for a false signal is at the end of your sweep. This is most likely due to too high of sensitivity for the area. You may be without knowing it changing the direction of your coil faster on your left side. Thus making it false just on that side.

I get that with the aztec too. I think I'm lifting slightly at the end of my swings. If I'm swinging right handed I get it right, If I swing left handed I get it left.

If the grass is wet it's worse. Reduce the sensitivity and slow your return sweeps down. That should do the trick.
