First time out with et

Drove to a neighboring town to look for a new spot. I didn't want to hit my normal spots until i had some time under my belt. Found a church built in 1925 and hit it. Turned it on, coin mode, +3 auto sens and started swinging. First target was a 1909 wheat at about 6". Loud and clear. Ended up with several wheat and misc clad.

Rolled around the countryside looking for new spots. Took a couple of pics of some old homesteads. There are lots of places to detect, just have to find the owners to ask permission.

Etrac impressions. Very powerful detector. Goes deeper than my Tejon with ease. I didnt pay too much attention to the display except for depth. I ignored the surface coins after digging a few and focused on the deeper targets. Its really exciting to get a nice tone with the depth meter passing the halfway mark. I need a pinpointer or I need to take more time to pinpoint. Had a few targets that took a while to locate. No silver but I'm sure it won't be long.

I'm pooped. Looking forward to my next outing.

Great job Arnie. I lived in TX. when I was a boy. ('72-'82). Wish I had a detector then! Lived in the McKinney and Caddo Mills (between Royce City and Greenville) areas. One thing I remember and love the memory of is about every 7 or miles or so there would be a gas station with guys playin' checkers out front.

Thanks for the great pictures.

That is a great machine. The pinpoint works well. I usually do the 90 degree turn and the pinpoint works well. The small PPs don't show the deeper targets anyway.
good luck

Way to go!

You're gonna love the E-Trac. It just keeps getting better.
