Been detecting for almost 30 years and besides a Nautilus, the EX II was the only machine I hadn't tried. Maybe a little intimidated but anyway, took the
plunge. Impressions: Right off the bat, the first thing you notice is that this thing is heavy. Other than that, everything went fine. I really had the wrong idea of this machine, not nearly as hard to understand as I thought, still dealing with the simple things but I think after I get used to them, I can move on. Anyway, with the sensitivity in manual, ran up to about 27 and she settled down. Hunting CW relics in an area that has been pounded, actually didn't know how well I would do but got
a piece of lead case shot at between 12-13 inches.
That impressed me(I'm hard to impress)and I will not
spew out a lot of hype. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Got a grommett at about 7-8 inches. Went in then cause the wind was blowing and it was
cold. The case shot was the deepest target of that size that I have dug with a stock coil.(10") I like the sounds the EX II makes but swinging it slow takes
some getting use to, like the Elite I had. Any suggestions on handling the weight would be appreciated and I'd like to hear from some that are using the 8" coil. I'd say it's a killer on coins.
Best to all, Richardntn
