I got up this morning and the sun was shinning, it was a little breezy with the temps in the mid 50

a better start than most have.....
As I was telling Donnie, we reccomend 525 as a good, stable starting point. When your comfortable enough, & if your soils allow, feel free to increase settings down the road for depth (But I still like 525 in trashy places). I use 810 alot in open areas, but I have a couple years with the C$ now....
Trash ratio will go down the more time you use it. I rarely get fooled anymore, unless it's a huge shallow piece of iron, or as you mentioned something like a canning jar lid is hard to avoid.
any more questions don't hesitate to ask......

Congrats on your virgin hunt Daryl...it just stopped raining all day here & so tommorow I hope to take a shotout there with with my C$ at some different sites, I'll report back then.......like Daryl said everyone has been so supportive and thats a great thing!.......Bill Ladd has gone beyond the call of duty to be the C$ ambassador to so many Detectorists offereing his info, knowledge, recomendations, also...

with the C$, especially in your yard where after 10 years of detecting and still finds goodies in your yard, the C$ is doing its job.

Mike
