The snow has pretty well melted here in Dunkirk, Indiana and about an hour before dark this evening I went to the little old park
to get some time in adjusting to my Explorer.I Just got it in Nov and only tested some coins in my garden with it before
the weather got bad.
I kept everything at factory preset (just like Bruce advised doing for new Explorer users) except the threshold I lowered to 7.
I was going very slow listening for the higher pitched sounds. I found a couple pieces of junk then I found my first coin with it ,a memorial penny.
The pinointing was excellent on it. 5 minutes later right at dark I got another high pitch target that was around 5"deep,expecting a new dime or a penny.
I cleared the goowy wet mud away I saw the silver shine! A 1923 merc, I,ve hunted this park several times over several years ,its
very trashy and has alot of high minerization but this Ex Se Pro was pretty stable. This was my first silver coin out of it and hopfully I.ll be
going back real soon.
Just like to say thanks to all of you knowledgable guys and the post that you make that give me and other newbies the encouragment
to learn our Explorers.
