First time out with the AT Pro ended the year with silver

I bought my new AT Pro in early December and almost immediately the temperatures in Northern Virginia dropped and it got just too cold to get out detecting. And then on New Year

Very nice! I'm only about 200 miles north, it's in the 50's today and the blasted ground is still frozen solid & with snow cover :ranting:

NJgeoman, I feel for you! It is so frustrating to have mild air temps and still not be able to cut into the dirt to recover a promising target. I hope you get some sun and back to back mild days so you can get out and enjoy our great hobby!

Thank you one and all for taking the time to read my post. I am very impressed with the AT Pro, it found targets that were deep and it was accurate. It is also easy to use and easy to adjust to. I did experience some "false signals" when in the course of swinging the coil it hit brush, sticks or rocks, but I also found that it returned to "true" very quickly, so this was not a negative factor in my detecting. I replaced a GTI-2500 with this detector and I do not regret that decision. The "mean green machine" was and is an outstanding detector, but this AT Pro is much lighter, less complicated, and I felt it was giving me the flexibility, depth and accuracy that I enjoyed with the GTI-2500. I commend the AT Pro to anyone looking for an excellent metal detector.

Happy finds for 2011 everyone!
