First Time out with the F75 ltd!!!

Finally got the F75 in and finally got to hit a well worn civil war site after months of researching detectors and local historical sites. I didnt set the world on fire but I did break the ice. I think the big chunk of metal is from a cannon ball which my friends said they found quite a few pieces of them in the area, a grape shot, and small metal button. Who knows maybe the button was from General Jacksons Levis Also who knew the soldiers loved cold beer and shot guns so much because I dug the hell out of shot gun shells and beer cans!!! OH and lets not forget barbed wire pieces. Im impressed with Boost Process, it gets down there deep!

Well, the good news is that your LTD will hit on those targets as hard as it does. Just keep after it and you will be digging some great things. I am pretty sure anytime I don't bring something good back I have failed to put the coil over the goodies. Looks like you are off to a good start. Keep looking and posting.

I ran it in boost process most of the time but I did try the standard setting and all metal mode. I had a set of brand new energizer rechargeables in the machine that I hadnt charged yet and the battery meter dropped a notch after a couple hours of detecting so I put in the batteries that came with the detector and it automatically got really chatty! Too chatty so I lowered disc and sensitivity. The next site (civil war breastworks) I cranked it back up again to full disc and sensitivity and it was still chatty but manageable. Im not so sure that the all metal isnt deeper than boost process. At times I thought it was and others I didnt. I really need to learn aluminum cans. Sometimes the machine would give me a really funny tone on them and I knew but I also tried several tone settings and dug alot of cans. Unfortunately the old breastworks runs paralell to a road and people have chunked cans over the edge for years and they roll or get washed down in it and being on the side of the hill it doesnt take long for them to be filled over with soil. No telling whats in it 2-3 feet down. It would be an excellent location for a pulse detector.

Awesome, I haven't seen anything like that since I was in Vietnam. I opened that up and your picture of shrapnel jumped right out at me.

I have notice lately that the Boost Process is getting a lot of attention. For me BP is the way to go for just about all my hunting. I like it because of the extra depth and the slower sweep speed, also seems to be more forgiving on the humps and bumps.

I found out that if you are in boost process on the disc side, then switch motion all metal, you still have boost process in the all metal mode. I relic hunt in motion all metal with bp process..........still learning the machine.
