Still learning. Made the mistake of choosing a super trashy site for my first hunt. It's the area around an abandoned swimming pool. Every swing had 5-10 targets. Found some newer coins. I then decided to hit a couple of other obvious areas.
Unfortunately, this unit seems to be very sensitive to power lines. I was able to run the unit at 90 sensitivity around the pool. As soon as I got within 100' of the power lines, I had to reduce the sensitivity down to 60. I don't expect it to be much of a problem out here in the country.
Final total was 13 coins in 2 hours. 7 mem cents, 1 Dime, 3 Nickels, including a 1941, 1 wheatie, and 1 Quarter.
Overall, I found the unit to be very good at discriminating junk out. Very accurate. Very light. Great coin hunter.
My subdivision has a lot of history. There is a slave cemetery on the property. So I'm going to seek out teh more historical areas next. One thing for sure, I need a 5" coil. the darn thing cost an arm and a leg so I'll have to hold off on one.
Thanks for all the help folks!
A bad day detecting is better than working.
