Got the WOT in the mail yesterday and couldn't resist going out for a litle bit late last night (when I should have been doing other things (like sleeping?)). (Got a nice surprise in the box w/ the lower rod--thanks Jim!) Seemed like I could run almost as hot as I normally can at that spot, which was nice. Played around with some different settings. Pinpointing didn't seem that much different to me than the stock coil though had to do a little more heel to toe testing on possible targets and not just x'ing. Weight didn't seem that different to me at first but it crept up on me after a while. I've been thinking of getting a swingy thing--rather than just using my homemade jury-rigs--and suspect I'll be ordering one shortly since I like this coil! Can't wait to try it at the beach. On my way back out across the triangle, I switched to disc mode--coins on and bottlecaps off--and it was interesting. Amazingly quiet with very little falsing, even with all the iron I know is in the ground. A couple of targets really jumped out at me, including a '65 quarter (darn, one year off!) and '70 memorial coin drop. Seemed like it falsed less in that mode than the stock coil does. I'll have to test it w/ minimal IM (and maybe bottlecaps off) later and see if that continues. With the stock coil, I seem to get about the same amount of falsing either way, just with any disc I get nulls and falsing together rather than iron grunts and falsing. If the WOT does false less w/ minimal IM, I might end up using that mode a lot with this coil. All and all I'm real happy with it. Can't wait to learn it better.
