..yesterday.Therapist is a nice guy(kinda reminds me of ME!!!);put me thru all kinds of lower body strength tests -THEN he started examining my r-hip/thigh area,he told me "Im gonna do something here-If it hurts,we will know your Sciatic nerve is involved"-WELL,it didnt take long for me to start cringing from the pain;and the Dr.shouted "AHA!!!I HAVE FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!"Well,he didnt shout...He told me the sciatic nerve runs around a certain muscle near yer hip in most people-being that im not MOST people,he said mine apparently runs THROUGH this certain muscle in the hip/thigh area;and the combo of arthritis and over-doing it power walking stressed out said muscle;which in turn made Mr. sciatic nerve unhappy. That causes the weakness/numbness in my right calf/foot-THE GOOD NEWS is that while spine/brain nerves are NOT self-regenerating,the nerves for feeling in this case for my leg /foot ARE!!!!:thumbup:SO HE gave me a list of stretching exercises to do,I have to go back 2-3 times a week after work for a month.he ALSO said "Let me try something else"-I laid on the table, and he grabbed my R-leg and pulled-he said it mimics traction- IMMEDIATELY the pain was gone in my back/leg;and I could feel my foot!!Hes gonna do that to me,too!!!...

I'm praying the PT goes well for ya.

Hope and pray all works out for you with the PT! I know what lower back and hip pain are, as I have it in my right hip and leg also! Anytime I walk a lot or lift boxes and etc. Ooooooh!! The Pain plus soreness and stiffness! So good luck and God Bless! Betty
