First V3 usage

Took the V3 out around the beach house and had my first find. A crushed aluminum can at about 7 inches. Showed up on the screen as a quarter with a nice strong sound. The analyze mode had a funny curve like an "S" sine wave. Decided to dig it anyway. Pin pointing showed the depth at 1 to 2 inches of depth. Kept digging and finding nothing. Kept pinpointing and it kept showing something at 1 to 2 inches. Finally hit the can at about 6 to 7 inches. This puppy is a going to have a steeper learning give than my E-trac. I was running in coin mode and still had lots of false signals. Also, noticed that when I set the machine down and I was digging I would get a signal every now and then. This was a pretty trashy area, hope to get to the beach tomorrow.

The size of the target should show in "analyze". The sound will be a longer BEEEEEP.
You can lift coil off ground and see what pinpoint gives you.

Good Luck

Jerry

Cans are pretty easy to ID. The audio is usually very strong, (loud) and longer than a coin. If you lift the coil a foot off of the ground and can still hear it, it's a can. If the depth says 1-2 and you are already down 6, most likely a can. Analyze will also show a larger than coin object. Pinpoint and Analyze will show another frequency dominate other than 2.5.

The signal you had when digging can be eliminated by just hitting the menu button as a "pause" function. You'll be surprised how straight forward the initial learning curve is. Enjoy!
