First water hunt for the year.

Haven't been on for a while. Hope all are doing well. Hit the water with a friend today for the first time this year. Water wasn't too bad but the wind was blowing pretty good so it was cool when you got out. Not too much traffic yet. Just last weekend probably. I got one clad quarter and a silver toe ring. We hunted for about 3 hrs. Have to give it a few weeks and try again. Hope all are finding goodies. Will try and get on more often but the phone is being used a lot by my friend so time is limited. Take care all.

I'm hoping to do my very first water hunting this summer. It seems like the terra firma has been covered to death, so maybe the water will give up some good finds. I live right on the West Branch of the Susquehanna river in central PA. The PA canal also runs along the river.
Any and all suggestions, hints, tips are welcome! (and I'll even listen to some of them). Several old swimming holes dot the county, too.

Your river has a lot of history there. Swimming holes are ideal especially if you can find one that hasn't been detected. A good strong scoop is a big plus. I use a stainless steel model. Cost a few bux but will probably last the rest of my life if I don't lose it. People used to travel along the old canals and would camp along the way from what I have read a lot of activity went on around the lock locations also. Be glad to answer any questions. Good luck.
