First water hunt of the year! BRRRRR!!!!!!

I had to go to the lake to get my in-laws camper ready for the season before they get home from TX. Well I had some extra time, and a new scoop to test drive. So on went the neoprene waders. I am testing a new scoop that I designed, and also trying out a float behind sifter that a friend uses. The water was in the 50's BRRRR!!!! It was cold on the hands, but the rest of me was warm. Not much to show, but needed to get that scoop tested. It worked very well.

The one on the left is my design, and the other has all small holes. Great for sandy bottoms, and if you use a sifter. :)

Nice scoop you made, me son! The larger holes towards the top will allow more water and small rocks to get out, so you can see what coins, gold and silver you have caught in your metal net! Might even catch a fish for your lunch while :detecting; Now, don't go getting sick from playing in the cold water! :stretcher: Glad you could get out and do a water hunt to test your scoop and for it passing the test given it! :)

God Bless!

haven't even thought about water detecting much. Got a feeling there will be few tourists up here this year because of the gas prices.

I wear 2 pair of thermal underwear and a pair of shorts...about all I can fit into them with my fat butt

Going to Mt Pleasant tomorrow so going to take along one or more detectors...have to combine trips. Gonna do some grocery shopping at Meijer, Soldans, GFS and try my detecting down that way too if I get a chance.

Oh yeah, the selling of my motorcycle to the church member fell through. She wanted it but other problems arose so she cannot afford it right now.

Nice design, should work. You will have plenty of time to water hunt soon. We are to be in the low 90's on Sunday. Steve in so az

Try a wetsuit at those temps. That's when it's Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
That new scoop looks like a winner. The dual size holes should work real well.
The weather guy on Channel 3 here in Phoenix said it MIGHT hit 100

Welcome, waterbug, to the forum if you are new but if not Welcome Anyway! :)

Thank you Ma Betty.I have only been posting on findmall for a few weeks.Haven't been into all the forums yet,but find those I have, very interesting.I've been at detecting since the mid 70's,so have some experience and I try to help others whenever I can.Spent most of my life in Iowa, but moved down here to AZ to retire(ha ha).
