Fisher 5" coil ID

Can anyone tell me what detector this coil is for? I'm interested in buying the coil for a F75, but don't know if it is the right coil. The cable is 3ft long. Thanks

I also have the 5" that has the F 75 decal, the cable from the top of the coil to end of plug is 45", looks to be the same plug. Also have the 3' X 6' football shape coil it has the same decal as yours. HH Jerry

How would I be able to tell the difference between a F75 coil and a F5 coil? They both have the same connector, but different frequencies.

At your own risk, plug it in. If it can not find anything past a few inches, it is probably not for the F75. I tried a 5" F2 coil and an F70. It was only good to about two inches.

No risk, plug it in and I think it will work. I just looked at the plug on my F75 and it looks to be the same as your picture. My guess is that the coil you have is for a F70 even though I havn't seen a F70 5" coil.

Even if it is not for the F75 it will not hurt to try it if it plugs in. And from what I see on my plug and yours it will plug in. If it doesn't work it will not hurt your detector, you will just see it isn't doing what you think it should.

You should air test on a silver dime to about 7.5", if it does that then just hunt it. You are good to go.

I had a F5 at the same time I had the F75 and I don't think the coils would even plug into the F75.

If you really need to know my brother bought my F5 and I can check with him and get a look at his plug end.

Just let me know and I will contact him for a picture of his coil plug.

I think they made the round coil for the F5 with that small sticker at one point. This is the older style perhaps ?
I'd contact Felix at Fisher with the serial number. They should know for what machine it was made.

Okay I just got this F5 coil plug picture from my brother, the F5 has a male connector, the one you have pictured is a female.

The early F5's had a push in coil like pictured above....a 6 pin DIN...male connection.

The later F5's have a screw on connector...5 pin XLR...female connection.

The one made for the F5 has a decal that says F5 on it,I've had one for several years, and it is the best coil I've ever used, I have the 11 double d coil, the 10 inch concentric, but the 5 inch is the most effective, nothing escapes this baby
