FISHER 6X PROBE

Just got a fisher probe 6x for the 1265 and am having problems with it. Detector works fine with it connected, but when i turn probe on auto or on position it either beeps on air dirt and metal or doesn't beep at all. it will work for may be 2 seconds out of 2 minutes so basically unuseable. Any one have any ideas? or is it just operator error? Craig
 
run it on manual, i've run them on my 1270 and 1236x2 in the past, sens when looking for target has got to be cut back to 5 or 6 to use with out falsing issues i'm not sure about the 1265 also make sure there are no broken wire connections because that will do that too also check screw in connections as well
