Fisher F 75 SE with Sunray FX-1 inline probe

the new yorker

New member
Hey guys everyone here is just a windfall of knowledge. I am a newbie to metal detecting. I got a deal and a half of this unit and live next to a mine that is the oldest in NY. Over 300 years old. I am trying to figure out how to use all the options and have no idea to set it up. I tried to find a DVD on how to use it but so far no dice. All my friends go all over the world to hunt and lol I'm home alone can anyone help me out to use this detector and how to hunt thanks in advance

Sounds like you got the right equipment to hunt that area! Somebody will be along shortly to assist you with your new machine and passion!
Good Luck!

Then add some Sensitivity and Discrimination ( Removing lower Signals) Pull tabs etc.. as you go.

De mode is the suggested hunting mode by Fisher. BP for tall grass areas.

Swing the coil shoulder to shoulder for best ID on the meter.. Slower if you like it is OK too.

Listen for the higher sounds for Silver and larger objects.. Middle and lower sounds for rings and Indian Head pennies..

Do some practice coin checks ( Table check) to see where the coins fall....... Always GB ( Ground Balance) Fast grab when actually detecting..do it often when detecting...Make sure ground is clean for GB perfection...Don't Ground Balance over metal objects in the ground...

Your going to dig some junk no matter how you set the machine.. Expect this....

To get back in factory preset...Turn off the detector Hold Red button depressed push forward on the trigger switch and turn machine on while holding those two things as stated...

Pm me if you need any help, I will give you my limited knowledge opinions. There are some real experts on the forum and all nice people.. I'm sure you will get some good advice...

Hey New Yorker
You can download the manual for that machine off of the Fisher web site. And there are a ton of videos on YouTube.com.

Good Luck
David in TN.
