Fisher F19 coils options

Trashfinder

Active member
Just got a F19 and i want to get a bigger ( or can be close to same size and just get a lot more depth) coil than the stock for more depth hunting in less trashy areas. Not sure i want to get anything much bigger than 11-12 inch.

The F19 (like the Gold Bug and G2) uses only DD's from the so-called "Greek"/"Fratbros" series. Large searchcoils on a quick-response machine like the F19 usually give little or no depth increase over the standard searchcoil.

Judging by this youtube video, coils can make a significant difference in air tests on the F19. Not sure if this would translate to deeper detection in the ground though.

Thanks for the Yutube link, very impressed with the air test. But I ain't digging anything passed 8" unless I'm pretty darn sure it's gold. Getting too old to be digging those holes to China only to find a piece of foil.
