fisher f5 search coilsa

I am new to this hobby and never metal detected before, but did my research and have decided to get the fisher f5. i see that it comes with the elliptical search coil or the dd coil. is the eliptical coil good for coins, jewlery, and relics? or should i get the dd coil? whats the difference between the to. and any tips on settin this beast up is greatly appreciated will be gettin it soon and i cant wait.

I would order the F5 with the 11" DD coil and then later pick up a 5" coil for trashy areas, the 10" eliptical coil is good but the 11" covers more ground and is a little deeper but in trashy areas where targets are close together it sounds off with different signals.

Spend a lot of time with this unit and try many different things and soon it will be your favorite, i have about two hundred hours now on mine and still learning and experimenting and testing,

Check Mike Hillis he has helped so many people on the technical questions on this machine.

Great choice on machine! I sell the either way. The Fisher F5 10" concentric coil or the Fisher F5 with 11" DD coil.

Both will hit coins and jewelery very well. The DD coil separates better and gets more even coverage. The DD coil is usually the more preferred coil for higher end machines because of it. Holler if you have questions or looking for a finds forum special deal! Love to help you!
