Fisher f5

A question on the fisher f5 metal detector, the ground balance button...when pressed it clicks...it dosnt tell me anything in the manual about this function.

Hi Robert.

Right, the infinite turn potentiometer used for the ground balance on the F5 also incorporates a push switch. This push switch feature of the pot is not used on the F5.

This same pot is used on the F75. This push switch feature on the F75 resets the display to detecting mode.

Hello Mike,

My F75 had that push click knob on it when I got it new and after I had it upgraded they must have change the pot, it no longer does the push click.

Sorry to hear that, Robert. I know they'll get you fixed up right in no time.

Good luck,
Mike

Robert. What wasn't working with the F5 you got ?

My f5 has two ways to ground balance, one is manually and the other way is automatically. The manual method you can set the balance were ever you want it and the automatically way actually sets the balance to what the ground conditions are. I always use the auto method. I've had my machine now going on two years and no problems at all except the original program wouldn't let it pick up a silver dollar but I sent it back to Fisher and they fixed it free and I had bought the machine used. They really treated me right on that one.
