Fisher F70 ground Balance

New member
HI,

I am fairly new to this forum and hope someone can help me.

I have a Fisher F70 and am having a tough time ground balancing the machine. I have read the manual several times and have followed the directions for ground balancing to the best of my ability.

I have been told that the sound will quit when the ground balance is right and there will be a 2 digit number that will remain constant. I get the 2 digit number OK but the F70 still makes noise when ground balancing. I check for being over metal using the pinpoint function and the area seems to be clear of metal.

What is the correct way to ground balance this machine. I am finding a lot of clad at 1 to 3 inches but nothing deeper. PLEASE HELP!!!

Mike.

are you running it in all metal or disc mode and it might be noisy because your running your sense and threshold to high so you need to give us a little more info on what settings your using heres a link to a few youtube videos that might help you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgLHU160MUs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jY3CoRTFHo

You'll be fine..set the disc at 1, stay in DE mode, drop the sens to 60 and drop the thresh to neg 2 or 3 ...pick a tone you like...I like DP, it tells you a lot about the target.
Now as far as ground balancing, when you get to a spot you want to hunt, go into the Disc mode, drop that 1 to zero, and now AT will show up on the screen, then find a clear patch of ground, and push the GG button while pumping the coil...then move disc back up to 1 and hunt away..if your machine is still chattering with these settings, push that HZ button and change the frequency...these settings should make your machine quiet until you put the coil over something. What state do you live in? Side note, I rarely ground balance my F70, maybe 1/2 dozen times per year....I just turn it on and hunt, if you are finding loads of clad, thats good, you are learning the language and maybe theres nothing deeper in your location anyway...what coil do you have on it? These questions will be helpful when the other guys log in and want to help you..gotta go sweep a beach this am, seeya!
