Fisher F75 with DST ............. Question..........

What improvement has the DST mode addition on the F75 LTD made for you while detecting with this machine ?.

ie: Less EMI
Deeper
Better stability
Better unmasking in iron

Why is it better now ??????????????????

Mine runs a lot quieter since the upgrade, no longer the constant chatter has been the biggest and best change for me.

I tried one with the "upgrade".---It was still noisy as all get out.----It was one of the new F-75's with the updated features.

Its one more option to be used when one encounters heavy emi. And it works, although, seemingly, along with a little depth loss. But the good news is, it can be turned on or off as needed. And as F 75 Iowa mentions, it just runs smoother. The F 75 LTD DST also has an additional mode not on non DST detectors. And that being, fa. F A, fast process, is lightening fast in trash. And really is a great mode for heavy trash. HH jim tn

I received my updated f75 se 2 today. before sending off I did some air tests in the house with stock coil. old 94 sens, 15 disc with some noise, 1c 10.5", 5c 11",10c 10.5",25c 12". updated 9.0 same settings 1c12", 5c 15", 10c 11", 25c 12", now with boost 1c 14", 5c 17", 10c 13", 25c 14". and quiet. I have a powerline about 80 yds. behind my house, 8.5" to 9" dime that I get an iffy hit at 94 sens, 6 disc in de. before upgrade, after I can hit it at 60 sens, 6 disc, de, clean hit, turn on bp u will not miss that dime. boost added 2". 5' coil added 1" + 1" for boost. I will try 5" coil tomorrow on dime. 9.0 is about 1" deeper than 9.1.

So i forgot, Is the DST always on or is that correlated with the 9.0 vrs 9.1 being displayed or not? CO

book says 9.0 is on, 9.1 is off. 9.0 is deeper

You can manually change between 9.0 and 9.1. Most of us feel as arid says, that 9.0 is slightly deeper then 9.1. HH jim tn

jim tn how is your id on the 5 x10 DD compared to 7x11. on air tests in my house my 5x10 concen. is more accurate than my 7x11 at depth. I get accurate id all the way till target drops in de no bp. does the 5x10 DD do the same?

It seems pretty accurate down to decent depth, but will try and pay closer attention. This 75 with DST is the most accurate of the 3 F 75's I've had with all coils. I don't always pin point, but just dig the spot with the best tone. I'll pin point more and pay closer attention. HH jim tn

See attached picture from the F75 Manual: to turn DST OFF you change the DST setting from 9.0 to 9.1
It's just reversed from what you would think. 9.1 is DST OFF, 9.0 is DST ON.
