Fisher ID Edge headphone volume

Does the ID Edge require special headphones?when I am using mine with my troy headphones and the volume cranked all the way up on the machine and the headphones I can barely hear the audio. Am I doing something wrong?

No, it's the headphone wiring, or the headphone impedance. Most likely the wiring on the plug is out. Get a different set of phones, one with a compatibility switch so you can switch between different brand of detectors. Detectors are not all wired the same.

you might want to get a pair of sunray pro phones thats what i use and there more then worth the money imo
with them i can hear tones well and pick up the smallest targets the edge hit's (and some are really small) the pro phones
will also work with other detectors just by the flip of a switch on the headphones
