I was at a salt water beach today and I got a signal on my impulse. It took me a whiel to find the target. I looked inside my scoop but couldnt see anything. Then I scanned the sand but no signal. So I looked closely in the scoop and there it was stuck to one of my magnets. A STAPLE! I have never found such a small target. I am sure I am not missing anything with the Impulse.

Hi Emmett,
The fact that you can find something as small as a staple not not mean that you will also find small gold targets. The signal that the staple gives is largely due to its magnetic properties, which non-ferrous targets do not have. Even small iron or steel objects have a signal decay that goes on for a long time - out of all proportion to their size. This is due to the decay of induced magnetism and not eddy currents, as in non-ferrous objects.

I was just so surprised to find such a small target.
That is why I said I will probably not miss much.
