Fisher Layoffs

Wasn't there a thread started here about the layoffs occurring at Fisher Manufacturing in El Paso?
Perhaps it was on another site but I'm sure curious if there is any more news or information on the matter.

Yes there was.

They laid off some folks.

I understand that they got severance packages.

Tough, but the Metal detector business is pretty flat – a slightly down.

My Minelsb went through the same thing not too long ago.

I got laid off in 2002 - Aerospace - not metal detectors -

True, but it can lead to stepping out of the comfort zone and moving on to bigger and better things. When I got laid off from a terrific job (we just were no longer booking much work at all) I took a job that moved me overseas for a few years. The experience for me and family is one we cherish. It was very positive for us all. Economy here is on an upswing in general. I pray that it all works out well for all involved.

The lay offs were the result of First Texas moving down the road to a larger facility. First Texas is a very large co. HH jim tn
