ok experts whats the top dog in small coils : the oval 4x6" coil or the concentric 5" d.d. coil? need some feed back please on this coils.thanks:clapping:

4x6 if steel bottle caps are a problem. This is my choice for hunting trashy parks.

All other times: 5" DD.

4x6 is very slightly deeper but never a deciding factor.

Question on this question; is the 4 by 6 coil a fisher or aftermarket coil??? We have the little round fisher but were wanting a elipt and wanted a fisher if possible or a good brand?

Not sure what model of detector you are looking for a coil for, above is a link to one on ebay for $118 but it is for the F70-F75. You can also get them new from Kellyco and other dealers.

Hey guys when I got my F70 I got the 6.5" coil. I like the 6.5" , my own preference. I never used the 5"DD coil. It says Fisher on the top of the 6.5" coil and the coil came with its own lower rod because it has a rubber grommet/nut and blot that is used with the coil and lower rod. The standard and 11" coils do not use the grommets. i use the 6.5" in parks/schools/tot lots/beach. It is light and is very good in trash. I use it around park benches and poles. I put it on a few months ago and haven't taken it off. I like it because it is light and gets very good depth with it. I have dug coins to 7" or a little more. Some claim much deeper?? Lets not get into that... USMC 60-64. I am not an expert but the 6.5" coil even works for a goof ball like me... Thanks for reading. HH... Happy Trails....Z

You are right on Zeeks ,I use my 5" ever so ofton......be very carful attaching diff coils I dont use the rubber gromments that fisher provides,in fact they only send one with there new f75's that has to tell us somthing.be carefull ataching coils to the f75.....hh rick in mi.

I have both (got the 4x6 first) and used it quite a bit... Recently purchased the 5" DD and havn't used the 4x6 since, just hangs out in the garage collecting dust... Both coils have no problem reaching a 8" silver dime in my test bed with a sens of 60, no disc, and GB of 62...

5 inch DD all day long. I can pull relics and coins from heavy trash sites with ease. In boost mode on the LTD model you can get some nice depth.
