Dose anyone use this pinpointer? Is it as good as the pro pointer? Thinking about getting one if they work. Thanks

Oh lord, you don't mean the F-point do you? They are a toy and not even a good one at that!
I have one and if you'll pay the shipping I will give it to you. But before you consider doing that I really don't think its worth the shipping.

The best cheap one would be the one from Harbor Freight, its worse drawback is in cold weather it loses some of its sensitivity, but frozen its still better than the F-point.

The Fisher Pinpointer does not even come close to the Garrett Propointer.
I have both and never use the Fishers.
Don't waste your money----Get the Propointer

Fisher makes excellent detectors. But they make a lousy pinpointer. Avoid it like the plague. No matter how cheap, it's overpriced.

That's why I said I didn't think its worth the shipping.

Yep! I'm serious.

Just send me a PM with a shipping address and I'll mail it out and then I'll get back to you with the total.
I'll send it out as CHEAP as I can.

When you get it you'll probably feel like I ripped you off

That's one way to clean out your junk box:crazy:

Flintstone,

I never used a Fisher pinpointer. Mark (CZ) discussed the Harbor Freight one (Cen-Tech), that's what I use. He's absolutely right -- it's "decent," not-so-decent when it's cold, but decent otherwise. But the Garrett Pro-Pointer? I never owned one, but hunted this weekend for the first time with some guys who do. I used one of theirs quite a bit; I quickly learned that it is BY FAR a better tool than my Cen-Tech. By far. Different league. I know the $130 price tag or whatever it is on the Garrett is STEEP; I don't know if it is $110 better than the Cen-Tech (which can be had at Harbor Freight for under $20), but it IS in a different league, for sure.

Well, I seen where you bought a Pro-Pinpointer, do you still want the F-Point? trust me you'll not hurt my feelings if you decline my free offer LOL!

Boy, are you over being sick yet from missing that deal?
I'll get the F-point out in the mail tomorrow!

I'm sorry you didn't get that Garrett, but keep your eye out and you'll snag one sooner or later.

The Garret Pro-Pointer is costly. But I can't stand to go detecting without it anymore. You get spoiled to it really quick. I know some people who don't use a pinpointer and don't complain. My opinion is they don't know what they're missing....or they have one heck of alot more experience than I do. I've noticed that the big guys who make online videos such as "Saving History" don't use it on camera even though they carry a Pro-Pointer. They wave handfuls of dirt over the coil. That takes forever when a pinpointer would find the object in the dug dirt instantly. I will always use the pinpointer and in my opinion worth the extra cost.

Fisher's a piece of junk, pay the extra for the Garrett Pro pointer. auto sen. don't have to ADJ all the time, good depth the light helps in the dark (early morning or dusk) great battery life, waterproof (not underwater) also speaker and vibrates. and you can soup it up for some extra depth. Top of the line wouldn't be with out it.

I got one in a Trade Deal approx. 2yrs. ago, and I COULD NOT BELIEVE First Texas Fisher would even WASTE their TIME & RESOURCES on such a
PIECE of CRAP!! FIRST TEXAS manufactures SOME GREAT Detectors, but they are JUST HURTING their REPUTATION with that So Called Pinpointer!!
I AM NOT brand loyal by any means, and I OWN & L-O-V-E the F-75 LTD, and also OWN (2) FISHER CZs (CZ-70 Pro & CZ-20), which I ALSO use on
Ocassion!! Along with Other MANUFACTURED detectors!! But, FIRST TEXAS does not need to DAMAGE their REPUTATION with that thing!! Just my opinion, Les Robinson

WoW! look at all those caps!!!

Well at lest he'll get one gave to him instead of buying it, I'm sending him the one I got free with my F2 so I'm sure will get some really wonderful feedback about the workmanship in the F-Point

i've got one, it came with the detector, and I use it maybe once every time out, so it comes in handy, usually when I'm probing for a coin, and got some sub surface gravel to contend with, sometimes it helps me locate it, but you just about have to touch the metal for it to sound off...it did help me find a very small silver ring that sounded like a dime, but I couldn't stick it with the probe, and walked away, then thought better of it, and walked back and stuck that pinpointer in the ground...glad I did, and glad I had it...

Another worthless piece of junk pin-pointer is the "AutoMax V4" (another free-bie)
