Fishing trip!!!!!!!

New member
Drove by a local park yesterday where i usuallly run the dog
The nsow had melted dwon to a walkabe amt so i let the dog
chase deer tracks while I fished in the creek with a magnet
15 minutes 7 lures (spinners small spoons ) and a few
hooks which i threw in the trash
Kinda fun I got the idea from the Urban Treasure Hunter
Think Ill keep the magnet in the back of the trk Never know
when Ill be near some water

Magnet 4.99 at the hardware store 50 ft coil of heavy cord
i had at home... maybe Ill pull a Treasure Chest Next time!!!...:heh:

COOL! Or walk the local fishing hole, lake, resevoir when waters down during summer drought be surprised at amount of useable fishing lures picked just looking for them or using MD.Especially if you follow a piece of fishing line, and see whats still tied to end of it .:clapping:

IM pretty sure some of the lures are ones
i lost fishing there as a kid.. at last Id like
to think so....

A few years ago I met a fellow about to head out with a small plastic, open Kayak of the type I call a "Puddle Duck"!

He had a very (maybe twenty foot) long aluminum telescoping pole with a pair of tongs on the small end and I asked him what he did with it.

He said his hobby was paddling the fishing spots and retrieving lures!

Some from under water where he could see them and some from tree branches.

Seemed like a great hobby to me considering the cost of lures these days I told him.

He replied that he just collects them and has a peg-board wall in his garage covered with lures and hasn't bought one!

Some of them are collectors items and worth the cost of a new Kayak too!

I too have done the same ting.....I also pulled out some lures, but did get some coins off a small bridge over a small creek. I guess people throw money and make a wish. At least my wish came through!

Now all i gotta do is figure out how to
get a scoop out into the water???

Who would have thought a simple ACE250
would lead to all this searcing stuff??

But I Love it

Didn't Mr. Garret used to produce a coil that you could tow in the water behind your boat and find stuff? Didn't he also sell sluices or some type of gold mining equipment? Seems like it was mentioned is his book about finding stuff at the beach or in the water? I like the idea of the magnet, because it can get into places that are hard to reach. some of those old fishing lures are worth a lot of money. Imagine finding some of those old baitcasting reels that someone lost when the boat turned over or something.

With so much snow and MORE comin I may only be able
to magnet fish for a LONNGGGGGGGGGG time !!!!!
