fixed ground balance / 5 inch coil

Any thoughts on ground balance and the 5 inch coil.
Will mineralization be more / less of an issue or no different than the stock 8 inch coil

It's going to be less of a issue with the small coil, (5") provided it's in balance. The small coil will see less ground, so there will be less ground interference affecting your detector.

Thanks for the useful info!

I've been thinking about asking the same question but decided to wait and maybe come across the answer somewhere on the internet.

I plan on buying a Delta 4000 within the next week but getting the 5" coil will have to wait until I find enough to pay for the coil.
