Flashback...My Sovereign XS came with this VHS tape, and note.

This VHS tape came with the Sovereign XS that I ordered from Kellyco....back in '97. Rediscovered this today when clearing out storage space.
Been years since I've owned a VHS player, so I can't watch what's on it. Hell, can't remember if I've even watched it.
Does anyone recall the video, or if the video has been posted anywhere?

I got my Whites 6000 DI Pro from Stu at Kellyco in 1986.
I have a GT, but never knew Kellyco gave out a video. First time I ever saw that.

When it comes to silver, the Sovereign has smoked every other detector I've owned, to this day...But, will admit that I haven't had the other detectors on the old home sites nearly as much

The 8 inch coinmaster was one of the coils I recommended to those that were learning the detector, the tones seem to stay longer so you could hear the targets better. The XS a very nice detectors and one . The next model was the XS 2 which had the drop in battery packs the the coils were waterproof where the coinsearch were not. If that picture you posted is your XS it has the famous SunRay 180 meter which to me there were no better meter on the Sovereigns.
I got mine back in 1996 when the XS came out, but they were not simple to use, the more you use it the more you understand it and then it all clicks any many older area that many thought was worked out the Sovereigns show what was left by other detectors.
One thing is they dont make the battery packs for the XS any more that are rechargeable , so you will have to use you alkaline set up if you have it, just dont use the the rechargeable AA battery's so 8 is 9. 6 volt where the Sovereign needs 12 volts to operate in it as they are only 1.2 volts each so. They may work for a little while, but I find the threshold is not as stable and will give the low battery alert. There is a company that makes a battery using 3 of the 3.7 cells to get 11.1 volts as one of mine I bought used had it in it and had to make a alkaline set up and use 8 AA battery's to get the 12 volts. The factory rechargeable pack used 10 cells in them.
When you get the XS out and running and have a problem check us out on the forum as many of us swear by the Sovereign , not at them.

The SunRay meter is the DTI III...and it certainly is the best meter for the XS. After reading reviews and stories, I replaced the Minelab meter with the SunRay. Still have the Minelab meter somewhere in a box... i think.
Here's a note for anyone looking for rechargeable battery packs for the XS....Amazon sells some which claim to fit the XS, BUT the plug-in is NOT the correct type for the XS. Rewiring the original battery terminal to the new battery is required to make them work. Plus, they're a little thicker, but they do work. I still prefer to use the 8-pack of alkaline batteries.
I've never had any problems with the XS. It's a keeper.
