 Allow me the opportunity to share a little book I've recently read that many of you will find very interesting. The title of the book is: Consumer Guide to Herbal Medicines with compliments of Self Healing by Dr. Andrew Weil. Fantastic little book! It's available @ Self Healing P.O. Box 2057, Marion OH 43305-2057 * (800) 523-3296.

I don't know if there's any cost for Dr. Weil's guide or not, as I got my copy from my neighbor. Dr. Weil has been practicing medicine for over 25 years and he says, "I have depended on the healing power of herbs..." and "for every pharmaceutical prescription I write, i give out some 40 recommendations for botanicals." If you believe in and trust herbal remedies, you need to get Dr. Weil's guide. Look into getting your copy today. You'll be glad you did.

What would you say is the one herb, food, vitamin or mineral that has made the most difference in your life? I've taken some herbs that seem to help. For example, when I think I'm coming down with a cold with maybe a tickle in the throat or a little sore throat I'll start drinking some elderberry extract mixed in water and it almost always seems to ward off what I thought was a cold. This is not science I know but it's enough to keep me using it.
I've tried many others too. Like colloidal silver. It has seemed to do the same but haven't tried it as much. It takes setting up a electolysis unit unless you want to spend big bucks for it at the health food store.
If anyone else wants to jump on this one go right ahead. Just curious about what has worked for others.

Hey Neal,
According to Dr. Weil, the herb he prescribes more than any other, for the common cold, is Echinacea. However he recommends 'tincture of echinacea' to anyone at the first sign of a cold or flu - symptoms like a scratchy throat or body aches - and he often pre- scribes it as a first line of treatment for common infections such as sore throats or ear infections before resorting to conventional antibiotics. If anyone has questions, they can call Self Healing toll free @ (800) 523-3296.
