For Sale ---18 in loop for DFX MXT-The loop goes to deep for me I

Deathwind1, if you did not sell the coil yet can you tell me a little about the brand and your experience with it. I was thinking of purchasing a larger coil for my MXT. I hunt Ghost towns and old Ranches and could use some depth. Thanks.

It has been sold to the first person who answered--It is A Kellyco EXcellerator--It would work good for you but it did not for me as I hunt finished yards as it went deep enough that I had to dig bigger size holes than I like to do--I think they still sell them but at a lot Higher price--The person in Virginia did get it for a good price as I should have sold it for $150 and shipping But I knew I was selling it a little lower than I should of---Some time I would like to do the type of hunting that you do--Have you found and guns or old west Relics? I plan to try to go in your Area in the next year or so if my OLD body lasts that long!

Too bad for me about the coil. I am glad you sold it though. I have found a gun. I did not need my metal detector though. I found an old dry lake bed out in the bad lands not far from the Bridger trail. It was a trail used in the 1840's thru 1860's to get to the Montana gold fields in Virginia City(near Bozeman). I found the perfect skeleton of a horse stuck in the clay at the bottom of the lake bed and thought that quite odd because it was perfect like it had fallen over complete. Usually with the number of Coyotes and mountain lions we have they scatter the bones all over the place pretty fast. I could tell that the skeleton was old so I went for a look. Just beyond the bones there was a sawed off shotgun sticking out of the ground. I had it dated to around 1907. I also found smaller bones then the horses and pieces of old saddle. I think somebody probably got ambushed. The Indians were still pretty angry in this area until around 1925. The badlands are located right between the Shoshone Indian Reservation on the south and the Crow Reservation to the north. There are still a lot of old wagons and parts all over the trail. These areas have never seen a metal detector. I have found spurs, bullets, ceramic kids toys, complete dishes, eyeglasses you name it from the gold rushers. The trail took its toll on the wagons and the settlers would just leave things or bury them to come back later, which they seldom did. Just a question, how deep would that coil go on a coin size object.

I found Quarters at 12 inches with it--How Often do you go out on the trial Looking for Buried Stuff---I would not mind Making A Trip to Your area and hitting areas that have Not been hunted with a detector--I just Retired of Feb.1-07--So I have the time to do anything I want!--Would it be worth my Time to do That?----My GrandMother Came To My Town By Covered Wagon In 1868---My GrandFather Came around The Horn in 1867 to this Town---DeathWind1---Ronald R. Rathbun
