there was 3-4 times I got mid-hi90"s signals...Seeing quarters are no where near that, I just continued on....they gave a high tone signal .I'm thinking they were large iron in the ground..was I probably right, or did I pass by something good??

More than likely a smashed pop can, or those tops off of a chain link fence post, or the top of a mason jar full of silver dollers...if you raise your coil slowly over the signal and it hangs on for quite a distance, its probably junk of some sort, BUT half dollars come in higher than Q's ( 92 on the F70) so it pays to dig a few of those big targets to get the feel of a half when you run across one. Location critical here.

or the top of a mason jar full of silver dollers

 Your just plain Bad Hahahahahahahaha:devil:

I have had a couple of deep, big silver coins that were partially on edge come in in the 92-94 range, but never anything good with upper 90's numbers. HH jim tn

iron will most times give you a spike on the Fe304 meter, and will scream when you pinpoint. The VCO when you pinpoint will be different as well. Ramps up different.
Was likely a beer or soda can, but its hard to tell with the info you gave.
Next time you get one of those signals, evaluate it a bit and then dig it up. If you leave questionable targets in the ground you learn nothing about what the machine is telling you.
