In Rich Warren's book 'The Purpose Driven Life', his statement "Retirement is a short sighted goal. You should be living in light of eternity.", really caught my attention this morning! It's true! So often we go through life thinking of our retirement days and making investments for them, without thinking of 'Eternity' with as much vigor or forethought. As Christians, we need to be looking at the bigger picture and preparing for our heavenly home. Amen?

Yes, Martin, there are many who work and save their whole lives and then end up being ill and trusting in drs, hospitals and others to make them well or feeling better on whom they or (even me) spend their money! It is better to serve God and allow Him to take care of us whether young or in our latter years by leaning on and trusting in Jesus, as the Savior and Lord of our lives! The Bible says, put God first in our lives and then He will meet our every need by following His plan that He has for us! I am afraid I have failed many times in that area, also! But I understand the Biblical Scriptures now more than ever and try to obey what the Lord of my life wants me to do! God's Word is good for studying and gaining godly wisdom to walk in the light of Jesus Christ continuously!

(KJV) Matthew 6:19, 20, and 21......Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

If our hearts aren't filled with the love and truth of Jesus, then we will not have everlasting life for all eternity! Jesus is the life, the truth and the way to heaven and there is no other god, man nor way to the Father but through Jesus! Amen! Ma Betty
