Forming a Pattern

When a pattern is being made is there a size of edit frames in the screen that amounts to a number on the graph. Example... If I want to blacken out to the 25 ferrous area is one the squares = enough to take me to 25FE. Does each square = a certain amount when applied to screen. When I copied Neb Trac's pattern I went just by sight..Is there a better correct way?? Also the other side of the screen has 4 choices of edit modes. When left in a certain choice does this affect normal use of detecting or are these strictly edit choices only??

The easiest way to copy a pattern is if the owner/designer of the pattern has made it available for downloading on E-trac Exchange...if not you can try to edit the pattern to match what you see..Now, on the left side of the discrimination menu you will see four boxes...the smallest will edit a 1x1 FE-CO square, the second will edit a 3x3 FE-CO square, the third will edit a 5x5 FE-CO square and the fourth will either turn the screen into all black or all white...If you want to blacken out the FE beginning on FE line 25 (going horizontally) x out the first square on line 25-01 and proceed to keep x-ing out consecutive blocks until you have all the blacked out areas you want to be blacked out (you can navigate the edit square by using the navigation arrows) and using the x or the check mark to reject or accept that area within the square and of course you will have to whiten those areas you want to accept. ...a youtube video demonstrated clearly how to edit your screen...see..."Etrac...How to accept silver dollars"...use the instructions here on how to edit and save patterns...also you can use the manual instructions if you still have the manual. pages 44-53.. on the right side of the screen you will select the first (manual) box while you do your editing. Once done you can save the pattern into "MY Patterns" under the discrimination selections or if you want to save the patterns and your mode selections you can go to the user menu screen and select save...save your selections by selecting a my mode line ...rt or lf arrow key and pushing the detect button.......once you design your discrimination pattern the Etrac will use it to discriminate as you desire...the modes , such as sensitivity and audio settings are selected according to your tastes and desires and your special circumstances...Saving your pattern in the discrimination screen selection is not the same as saving your modes in the user my mode selections...Good luck and happy hunting...btw Neb Trac is an excellent detectorist...
