There isn't a witch or wizard who went bad that wasn't in Slytherin....... My new favorite silver jewelry find. Cool silver snake clasp. The rest of the bracelet was leather and has long since rotted away. The snakes jaw opens up to accept the tail. It is chunky and weighs almost 10 grams.

I found this in center field of a ball diamond. A team showed up right after I picked it up so if I hadn't made a bee-line for it they would have gotten it. This is what it looked like when I found it.

If you want to see how much money there was click on my other message in this thread.

I was really wanting to see just how many folks really give a shit about these posts and would click on a second link. That's why the second post.

A few times a year I seem to find a decent amount of money in the form of currency. Last year it was a lone $50 bill. I don't include them in my MD finds but I set them aside for something MD related.

Chris

That's an interesting spin. If I had quit after finding it, my hourly rate would have been around $440.00 per hour. Maybe I'll just walk around looking for lost bills from now on.

Chris

Great find in those bills.
You did well in the clad deparment also.
I'd say between the two its got to be your best day ever. Congrats

Maybe in the top 5. I have three or four really nice gold finds worth a lot more than 100 bucks each. It will be a nice memory when I spend the dough in 2010.

Chris

Great find, great haul of coins. I continually hear from people when I'm out detecting about how they find notes, but it hasn't happened to me yet, except once on a deserted beach when I was detecting a few winters ago. All the best. Sapper.

You're half way to an Ace 250 with that wad alone.:clapping:

how can i tune my ACE to find notes  awesome finds Chris  i really love the snake the stones look like Ruby's, are ya going to fix it up ??.
i"m yet to find notes wile hunting.

It looks like you had a cracker of a day Chris. I'd include the notes in your finds. You wouldn't have found them if you weren't detecting.
I like your idea of the second post. I've written a couple of posts about some things that I've discovered while using other detectors. I thought that they were interesting, but not a single interested person. Sometimes you do wonder why bother posting about little tricks that you can do with a detector. On those forums I'll keep those little tricks to myself now. Here, folks like Uncle Willy post some great tips and I for one always appreciate it. His one on the pull tabs the other day was a good one.

At least one person gets it. I know there are a bunch more who do but you nailed it.

I am always curious as to why some posts receive so little attention or so few replies. I have written a few followup posts that were never viewed at all. A few were probably worth reading. I guess the moral is, if you have something to say don't post it in a followup post because very few folks will read it.

I am NOT going to include the bills in my finds. I have a special fund for money, coins too, found while not detecting.

Chris

You know, I gave that snake a scub under running water with a toothbrush and thought I got all the dirt. You never know how dirty something is until you look at it under magnification. I'll clean it up, I suppose. There are bits of leather glued in each end that are pretty solidly affixed. Might be worth putting on a new band although I am not a supporter of you know who!

Harry

Good find cwilk. Must have been in someone's sock and fell out. WTG. :detecting:
I also would like to know how to tune the ACE 250 for bills. hehe

Well said Chris.
Barnacle Bill has felt the same way on occasion. He writes some great insightful posts too. I suppose that it's just the nature of internet. I guess when we say something that really inspires us and you want to share, then it feels a bit disheartening when it seems to be unappreciated by others.
Enough said.

??? i don't understand Chris did ya post another post or was it a continuation to this post ?? i think most people like to look at the finds only & don't follow the thread i tend to look at all the posts on the Garrett forum then follow the threads of posts i"m interested in or have relevance to me ( which is about 60-70% of them ) i may not post after the first post i usually just watch.
i to find the Garrett part of this forum to be the friendliest & most help full i don't think i"v ever seen a question that was not answered this is not so else were on this forum quite regularly posts get no reply.
i think all the great people on here should proud & get a big pat on the back for all the awesome info / finds & help they post :clapping:.
P.S but you"d do so well in slytherin.

Very nice hunt!:clapping: Good clad haul, nice silver find in that snake, and great find in happening across those bills. I found a $100 bill about ten years ago while out detecting. I've found a few smaller bills here and there, but never over $100 at once. Too cool! I hope that you find many more! Thanks for sharing. Happy Hunting!

I was just curious as to why so few people followed threads many of which are interesting or informative. I had a photo of a wad of bills and poated if you want to see how many bills there were click on the follow-up post. Just over 10% did. If a thread is interesting I look at it all, if not I ignore it. Personally, I would have clicked and I did so one of the views is mine.

Plus, only one person responded to my Harry reference. I might do well in Slytherin but I chose to be a Gryfindor, and as we all know, that is what makes a difference.

Chris

PS It could be that my posts are boring, I suppose.

I am missing a 100 bill. I've found every other denomination but never a Big Ben. Thanks for reading both posts!
