Found a merc today by a local river

Today I went to a local river used for swimming many years ago. It's been hit hard over the years and I usually don't find a thing. Used the e-trac with a 16.5" excellerator coil I just purchased and did come up with a merc. I was very pleased. I have ordered the 7 x 4.5 and also the 12 x 15 sef per recommondations on this forum....can't wait to try those. Thanks for looking. PS...This photo is after cleaning. It had a black patina and was scratched up and fairly worn. I rubbed it with damp table salt first then a brass wheel on a dremmel then a jeweler's cloth. If it were a key date I'd probably do something different but this is just for my silver collection.

Nice find there Dave....I have that coil, but have not tried it yet....did you notice any improved depth? Looks like you did a nice job on the clean up.

Thanks. I'm not sure if I had improved depth...possibly. I also ordered a 12 x 15 sef and also a 7 x 4.5 excellerator....will try those soon.

I have the 12 x 15 SEF also and the WOT, 5" SunRay, and I have the 6 x 8 SEF on order....we should get together sometime to compare coils and signals....what part of CT are you in? I'm in northern NJ near the Tappan Zee. Best, Erik

Hi, Yes I do - it hits nice and hard like the pro coil and covers a lot more area. Probably deeper too though I have no proof of that yet. I like the pro coil very much compared to the older stock coils.
