Found a mini ball today

that had been flattened out and had 2 holes poked through it. I found it in the river so I am pretty sure some soldier was useing it as a fishing sinker. I bet fish would have been a nice addition to hardtack...d2
 
Very nice find - that's a real conversation piece for sure! What are those jewelery items in the from of the pic and the round ball?
 
Hey D2, I think you're right on the money. Looks like a three ringer that was made into a fishing weight. Check around that area for camp. Could be more where that came from!

There is a medalion to a necklace, a gold plated ring and part of gold plated ring. Thats a .36 caliber pistol ball in the picture also. And there is a CW camp there at the swimming hole and we have found a lot of stuff there over years...d2
