Sorry about listing this in the rong forum guys. I did not realize that their was a civil war forum. Me and my dad went to a new spot after doing some research and getting permission. after about 30 minutes I found my first artillery shell the pic is it after being disarmed and cleaned. I also found this nice US button. It and many other civil war relics can be seen being dug on YouTube at. LAdigger81 check it out.

That baby cleaned up pretty nicely. Congrats on a great find. :clapping: CCH

Very awesome! Was the shell a dirt or water find? Did you have to use electrolysis on it or just elbow grease?

I found it in a field and used electrolysis and a wire brush. When I dug it out of the ground I did not thank it would clean up that good but I am very happy with the way it turned out. I could not have done it with out the help of cajuncoinhunter. Thanks!! LAD81. HH!!
