After 8 trips to this old farm lot with nothing , i was discouraged and was thinking of going to another spot , Glad i did not as i had searched a very small part so far . before the coins started coming up , I dug an old cloths pin part , and i thought I must be in the area of the old cloths line- I was using the Euro saber and the sharpshooter DD gain at 10 and threshold set at slight hum and disc all the way back , and the two tone feature set to on Iron gave the low sounds only then the brass started making the mixed sounds of low high, and when i hit the dime & quarter it was just a high tone , and what is cool is when you stick the pinpointed down and it makes no sound even at its deep setting so i dug a wide plug and down about 5" a black layer and that is where the coin came out i dug the nickel 1st and figured it was new clade then a foot over out comes the merc but i figured it was clad to it had a black ball of corrosion on it i could not tell what it was . then a little wile later i dug the quarter and it looked like clade to because it was green looking in the hole then i rubbed it and seen it was silver it was then that i figured the rest of them may also be silver , and they where, 1944 quarter 1945 merc and 1945 war nickel . Aparently they had been in a fire, you can see they almost got to the melting point and the surface bubbled and the quarter and the nickel are bent just a little this situation is what led to the sivear corrosion and it was just hell getting them clean . but i am very happy to find 3 in just one short dig I found a tab man spot , hopefully more in this spot i only dug a small earea in this dig about 5x5 feet suprisinly few nails .
