Found A Wallet Yesterday In The Lake That Was Lost About 6 Years Ago....And Got A Hold Of The Owner :)

I did a search on the persons last name & address, and there was still one such existing. So, I called tonite, and was told from the person's parents that their son had moved out many years ago. They remembered that day, as it was his birthday, and he was out SEA-DOING. Any paper that might have been in the wallet had disintegrated, so there was really nothing left but lots of important plastic cards.

I am going to drop the wallet off this weekend and return it to it's rightful owner.

Interesting find.
How did that sound or come up on the detector ?
Was it the metallic stripe on the cards that souded the signal or did you trip on it in the water ?

Good for you John

I have found many wallets walking in the woods along roads most of them stolen of course and there usually is nothing left to tie it to its owner. I found a stolen purse one time that had the ladies info and I gave it to a deputy and he just said you might want to just toss it as the owner more than likely has given up on the purse. (?) Go figure...

Amen to you

Don

WTG John and is very nice to return the wallet!!

Good One!

I found a purse three years ago while hunting a hill side near a park. The purse was buried about 3 inches and was full of mud from sitting in the ground for 20 years. The lady that the purse belong to was at the park in the 80's and had the purse stolen. The local police found her and returned her drivers license and a 3/4 oz 14k Crucifix that was in the change pocket of the purse.

Another time while with my son at Yellowstone Park we were chatting about an Englishman who does mis-direction to pay for items with just a blank piece of paper. He tricks folks by talking about something about the time he's to pay for a watch or something of value. One of his best tricks was to put a wallet on a sidewalk in New york with bills sticking out and drew a circle around it, no one went near it. About the time my son told me this we were crossing the parking lot near old Faithful and I said "you mean like that one sitting there". A wallet was sitting in the gravel right where we were crossing that belonged to one of the kids that worked at the lodge. You never know what you are going to find that folks have lost, its nice to see there faces when they get it back. Way to go John!
