Found a whopping 1.4 cents

Hunted today where an old farm house used to be back in the 1920's and 30's. Everything was really corroded. The wheat penny is a 1919 D and the 4 tokens on the bottom are Oklahoma consumer tax tokens. They are all 1 mils and were worth 1/10 of a cent apiece. That gives me a total of 1.4 cents. The buttons are (Wichita Sanforized) and a cones boss button from old coverall's or jeans. On the back of the soap token it is from the Palmolive-Peet company which existed from 1926 to 1928. Don't know what the hinged box is, maybe ladies makeup?? These were poor rural Oklahoma folks but I am going back, I just know there is a silver coin to be found there. HH Randy

I think the hinged box is a rouge container. I have one like it. Mine still had the mirror and caked rouge in it.

But still they are good finds. Happy hunting.:detecting:

Cool finds man.The mystery that sorounds these items is what makes them so unique!! hh rick in mi.

Thanks for all the replies. Monte you are absolutely right about the fun. I took this hobby up about a year and a half ago because I really needed to do something fun in my life because of a family tragedy. This hobby has helped put some measure of fun back in my life. I can't wait to get out every chance I get. HH Randy

You guys are right on it is allabout the FUN,me and my cousin will hunt for hours, then we meet back at the truck ,spill are finds on the tail gate and talk and laugh for another hour on what we found.gota love it!!!!!! hh rick in mi.

Being born in Oklahoma. I started detecting there back in the late 1970's and found my share of those tax tokens along with coffee cans full of silver around those old homes. I thought that old 6000D whites detector was a scientific marvel. My brother and I used to fight over who's turn it was to use it.
I think Monte hit the nail on the head " It's all about having fun"

Love to find tokens, buttons, old gun shells ... anything that gives the additional fun of learning a bit of history that is behind the item and the area where found. Very happy that you are enjoying this great hobby.
And thanks for sharing!
