Found an IH and saw a strange dog...

Well, I went back to the area where I found that IH last week that cleaned up so well. No many targets left (Brendan really worked this area hard). Hit a rather odd sounding target and thought for sure it was a small piece of foil. To my surprise, out popped this:

I could only tell it was an IH by the back. The front, well... not in great shape

This is how it cleaned up. Looks like an 1875

Oh, here's the other part of the story. While I was MD'ing, something caught my eye. In the distance was this strange lookin' dog walking toward me. Didn't take long to figure out what it was :)

75 is a good year! :) Do you think that fox was sick? they are very skittish of people! Nice pics too! :)

I was lucky to get the shot actually. He was pretty far away when I spotted him. I have a 16X optical zoom on my cam so it's like a 400+mm lens in tele mode. He did get fairly close but he just looked at me and took off. I've come across them in a couple of parks and they do stay clear. (fine by me). Hard to believe I live in the "city" huh? :) Last week I had a bunch of deer run (close) by me at the same park.

OH, what a beautiful animal ! I wish I could see one live fox like that! Great photo.

Hey, Joe, that IH is a terrific find!! 1865; nice detecting. Congratulations...I want to find another one...really bad...I love those IH's

looks like one that visited me when I was detecting around the local elementary school. One I saw was very close and when I talked to it he turned and took a few steps in my direction then turned and went th other way...just walking. Cool animal that God has made...beautiful and said to be very smart.

Very nice find Joe ! Out here we have very few foxes but lots of coyotes - in and out of the city. Saw one near a school I was detecting last year that had a cat in it's mouth, and in the city of 1 mil, Steve in so az

Hi Joe, Nice find! What kind of camera are you using? I am going to upgrade but want one with a high optical zoom. The highest I found was a 12x, don't mind an older or lower mega-pixel model as most shots will be to post with. Thanks, Tim

Oh, okay, I do see Sony has a 15 though a bit expensive. Fuji has a 10x optical 7mp for only 169.99 at BJ's Wholesale! I am using an older Fuji with only a 3x. Had three deer come out in front of me, got the shot but wasn't very good with the 3x. I love seeing and being in the Lord's creation when I'm outdoors. I am amazed at the array of colors through even a short stroll through a forest with no man-made intrusions!
