I haven't been detecting much lately due to health issues. Yesterday was in the 70's. :detecting: What's a little pain. lol There is a park that has yielded a few good finds, like large cent and a cw era belt buckle. Funny, I have never seen anyone detect place. Well, this one has me stumped. I photo-shopped both sides so you can get a better look. It appears to be copper, but it isn't too heavy. It might be just trash?

How's about a Napoleon Coin? The dots seem to give a hint to it and I can see III .......

Of course I made a ring out of one.

WOW, that coin is so far gone it's really good to be tough to figure out what it is. One thing for sure is, it's got to be old.

Good try John. I had my post redirected to the Whatzit forum and it was ID'ed there as a Spain 5 Centimos 1870. Cool find even if it looks so ate up. Beats a zinc cent! oooops I don't speak Spanish. LOL I see DOS, so it must be a 2 Centimos.

I love it when a "find" sets you off on another hunt to try and ID. I found a piece of eight here in Shasta county calif dredging a local stream. Hole in it and found pieces of 18k tiny gold chain also. Coin was way too heavy for it, turned out to be 1871 if memory serves me right this am, worn really bad from stream action.??John
