I know it's a shoe <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> This one is made out of pewter..4 1/8-inch long, 1-inch high and 1 1/16-inch wide.

The Golden Slipper was a singing, dancing, and acting competition between the freshmen class and the sophomore class. It began in 1935 when the Dean of Women, Ethel Adams, was concerned about the freshmen class being homesick.

Before the days of catalogs they would dress dolls out in England with the latest fashions right down to the shoes and ship them to the colonies for the ladies to view and buy.
The shoe appears to be in the fashion from those early days.
