Had some time to kill so I went to one of my local parks to try a couple of things. I worked one area with the Platypus but didn't find much. I decided to go back to the van and put on the 12.5" sunray. I've been playing around with the big coil and I have to say I really like it. Even in trashy areas, you can still pick out targets if you go slow. I think the larger coil moves signals into the "iffy but you better dig it" area...
I was going along for a while and working an area where I found a Rosie a couple of weeks ago. I hit a very iffy, deep target and thought it sounded too good to pass up. It started sounding better and better as I came close to it with the X-1 and was really surprised to pick up, not only a silver, but the oldest merc I've ever found. Pretty well worn, but she looked great to me
