Went down to Georgia to pick up pecans. Got permission to detect the property. First target sounded like silver on my Sovereign GT. Meter also jumped to 180 which also could indicate silver. Dug the target and found that it was a mangled ring. After washing the dirt off the ring I then tried to find a hallmark. Only thing that I find is the marking "S8". Not sure what those markings may mean. Possibly the size of the ring. Does anyone have any information about rings being marked in this manner.
