Four Ring Day and All Different

This wonderful hobby/obsession of metal detecting continues to surprise me after many many years. Today I hunted a heavily hunted small beach and after 3 ½ hrs found few targets. It is an iron laden beach and my Manti was grunting (my iron sound) with every swing. But the surprising thing was that it turned out to be a 4 ring day! And it started as soon as I hit the beach. It was a so so low tide with 3 footers crashing in and I was aiming to hit the wet sand as the tide came in. As I headed to the wet sand, of course swinging my Manti with M15 as I go, I hit a nice sounding target. Fifteen seconds into my hunt out came this beautiful “Sterling” ring with milk quartz (?) stone. It is an old ring and looks like one that was worn by a woman for a long time before lost. Close inspection shows that several small side stones are missing. It is only marked “Sterling”. With not much luck in the wet sand, I continued my dry sand hunt and soon came across a 14k GF ring laying in plain sight. Howling winds had removed the lose sand, exposing some targets. Sweeping the blanket line, I then came across this Oura ring, 3rd generation, actually working (glowing LED sensors). Retails for about $250. Sweet. As my hunt was winding down, I couldn’t let the wet stuff go and returned to the water line where I found my 4th ring...it had seen better days, as the inside metal is bubbling. Overall, found 9 coins and 4 rings. I’ll take this ratio in all my hunts!
Wait one minute! Just returned from the next day hunt and not only did I score 3 more rings, one is 10k GOLD!
Was hoping to hit the water but the predicted 1 footers were 2 ½ footers and so I hunted the wet and dry sand for 5 hrs. And just like yesterday my very first target, in between crashing waves, was a nice 925 silver Pandora ring. With no further luck in the wet sand, I headed for the dry. About 2 hrs into the hunt I got a nice sounding VID “14” on my Manti and pulled out this 10K gold ring with a carved rose. About 4 hrs into the hunt a beach chair attendant told me a woman lost a gold bracelet yesterday in this (pointing) area and never found it. For the next hour I hunted the area w/o success but during the chase I did find a Tungsten wedding band and 2 gold colored trinkets (one marked “999”, but no way is it gold). Looking back, I hadn’t found a gold ring since Jan 23rd. It has been a dry and lonely 2 months.
Happy Hunting
